Actually I've been on pay sites that make it virtually IMPOSSIBLE to download the content. They spit the video into packets and then are only assembled at the time of steaming. Therefore if you had a video downloader, you have to download over 200 or more small packets and reassemble them so unless you REALLY REALLY want to have a copy of the video you are probably just going to leave it on the site.........it can be done......

because of the way that the web works xtube could only realisticly do this behind a pay wall which im sure we dont want.

IF you have found your video that you created uploaded to another site however you can file a copyright claim for the video and have it removed. if it is uploaded to a commercial porn site (ie paid membership where they earn money from it) then you can sue them for the money that they have made from the video you just need a lawyer

Xtube doesnt give a f@k about its users/uploaders nor their protection! I just found one of my old videos I previously loaded here then removed on xtubes front page in an advertising for another site(bearbf and only a pay site btw). Im sure they made money from it in more ways than one.. shame, shame, shame!

XxxxRAVENxxxX, people can already watermark their videos if that's what they want. Nothing is stopping them. As somebody who does upload here, I'd be opposed to XTube automatically adding a watermark. Murphy's Law dictates that any automatic watermark is going to overlay some important part of the video.

When you upload content, there's not really a way to prevent theft unfortunately. It's just like that you cannot catch everyone and stop places from having copyrighted music downloaded, BUT you could at least do one thing for your videos. Watermark them. If it does get uploaded on a different site, someone may at least look at the watermark and know where the video came from like you can put "XTube:[insert usernamer here]" Second of all, I suggest "pay only." If they really wanna snatch clips, they have to at least pay for it, but as again, it can get uploaded elsewhere after they have purchased it. But remember, watermarking may help at least give the source of where the clip came from. I haven't uploaded videos yet, but I have been watermarking photos on both my pictures and artwork (If they are very pathetic, they have to photoshop the watermark away).

prevent free downloads (rather than making it sloghtly inconvenient) requires to prevent free viewing too, i.e. go pay-only for viewing videos. I don't think we want that, certainly I don't.

XTube *does* prevent "casual" downloading, but they can't stop people with technical savvy and determination. Anything displayed on the screen can be captured and copied. This may be an inconvenient truth, but it is the *truth*. Wishing it weren't so will not make it go away.

it is unfair to the USERS being robbed and seeing their videos in some sites owned by other users. example, my videos was reported for unreasonably and finding out it is already published in some other SITES and even in some PAY SITES. 'NO FREE DOWNLOAD' is the best 'user' protection.
