I'm sort of leaning toward the probability that the xtube command crew may reap revenue from the vast number of other independent pay sites just for allowing the pay sites to advertize their wares on the mostly-free xtube site.
I would believe that the pay site's doing so would reap many benefits right back at them.
It certainly could be termed a win / win situation.
If xtube added a function whereby one could block any of the advertisorial content that one chooses, then that could possibly cause advertizers to pull out, negotiate a lower users fee, perhaps even start its own section where some videos would be free.
For xtube, the advertisers, and all us patrons it could most easily become a lose / lose / lose situation.
This is only my opinion. It sounds plausible; however, I certainly could be dead wrong.
As an addendum or codicil to my very recent comment about not allowing us to block advertisorial content; a possible solution might be to add a function of this nature but limit its use to only one day per week. xtube's records probably indicate which day, historically and percentagewise, that sees the lowest site patronage.
Barring Sunday, or running the risk of being labelled sacrilegious, any ol' weekday'll do.
