The visitors list shows members who have visited your profile in general. Thank you for sharing your suggestion with us, we will have it in mind and thank you for your loyalty!
I have been asking for this for years and years.
We apologize for any inconvenience. The team is aware of this issue and we are working on fixing it. Thank you for your patience.
I always watch videos from lists by opening in a new tab. Then I don't need the back button at all, just to close the new tab.
We apologize for the inconvenience. Friends content has been eliminated from the subscripion news feed, now you will only see content from your subscribers! Also you can now subscribe to tags by going here: http://www.xtube.com/account/my-subscribed-tags
If you need any assistance with the subscriptions, you may contact support: http://www.xtube.com/contact
I beg to differ. My list of subscribed users ran to over 20 pages and would take the best part of a day to check. It's much better to see new stuff right there at the top.
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. Yes private videos appear under the video tab of the profiles, but can only be viewed when the pin is provided.
We apologize for any inconvenience that may have been caused.
I've been here long enough to know the history of private videos, in case you're interested. They were visible on lists originally, as they are again now. Then Xtube introduced animated thumbnails that would scrub through the video itself when you rolled the mouse cursor over them. Obviously that exposed the private videos to view without the need for a PIN, so the system was changed so that private videos were hidden completely, as they were until just recently. The animated thumbnails were withdrawn (there were lots of problems with them), but the private videos remained private.
I would still like to see two levels of privacy, and I have been asking for this for a long time. There should be public videos as now, and private videos as now, but also a third category that only friends can see. I don't think there is any need to offer PIN protection for those as an alternative. Simply disable display for non-friends.
Thank you for your suggestion. Please note that our mobile site is constantly being updated and optimized for better mobile user experience.
The mobile support of Xtube via browser is getting better all the time.
Hello Raka! How does the URL block you from finding your favorite videos? If you favorite a video then it’s immediately added in your list:
We’d appreciate if you could share further details. Thank you
I find that the bookmarked old URLs still work. The new ones include the title, which is cool, and I just tried changing the title of one of my vids, and the new URL also changed.
Bring back the friend tags, so that I can assign my friends to categories that I select.
The ratio of free vids to paid vids tends to vary over time, but there's usually a lot of free stuff out there (including mine). Aside from natural variation, there have now and again been times when one or other of the upload channels (free and amateur uploads are processed differently) has experienced a problem that caused a lack of new vids of that type. Understandably, Xtube gives priority to the paid videos, but the free ones are also very important.
I also see a lot of stuff that I don't necessarily want. BUT, if you click "View All" at the bottom of the dropdown list, you get the notifications on a proper webpage that has a filter (on the right hand side) where you can select what kind of notifications you want to see.
It only includes options that apply to the current notification list.
He's been sending friend requests. Did you accept one? If you've accepted a friend request then you'll get news on the newsfeed.
It's back! Thank you very much. I suspect that this might be the reason that my last weekly video only got a fraction of the views and votes and comments that I usually get.
I have nothing against amateurs, but there's no reason why they should have the subscription newsfeed to themselves.
Yes, that page has always been there. I have 15 PAGES of users that I subscribe to, and it takes me half a day to go through to see if there is anything new.
I put in a request over six years ago to have that page sequenced so that new posts came out first, and I was told that it was on the XTube developer list of things to do
When the subscriber newsfeed appeared a few months ago, I thought that it was the long awaited answer to that request. But now the feed of posts by people that I ACTUALLY subscribe to has disappeared, to be replaced by an invitation to subscribe to people that I DON'T WANT to subscribe to. The new list is TOTALLY USELESS. i don't want to see any of those suggested people, I want to see the people that I subscribe to already.
This is simply not acceptable. Please restore the old newsfeed immediately.
The newsfeed has been restored.
Well, the subscriber newsfeed arrived to solve this problem, and now it has been replaced with a useless page where we are asked to subscribe to amateurs only.
So much for Xtube's desire to improve the service.
Are we talking about the same page? On the pages where I see lists of people I subscribe to, about 14 pages worth of users, each person's videos and photos appear newest first. But I don't have time to check through 14 pages even once a week any more.
I have been asking for this for many years. Packtloss (senior XT staff now left the company) told me that it was on the list for development.
I have always found Gina to be very helpful.
It's true, the desktop browser login screen does not display the Captcha until your first login attempt has failed.
That funcitonality was introduced back in the days when private videos appeared on summary lists. If you clicked on a video that was private, then you got the page that asked you to put in the PIN if you knew it.
Then, the thumbnail preview feature was introduced, and it showed previews of the private videos. OOPS.
So they took private videos off the summary lists, AND they stopped the preview function (which was always a bit flaky anyway).
It was stopped years ago.
Thank you, XT1. That is not helpful at all: you score zero on customer satisfaction response survey.
We know what we are already able to do. We want to know what you will do to improve the service as suggested, or else tell us why you will not take the suggestion.
I have been saying this for years. I remember when the private videos were listed on the owner's profile, so that people only had to ask for the PIN. You just had to make sure that the first few seconds were dark/blank so that nothing appeared on the thumbnail. That changed after the preview-thumbnails were introduced, where mousing over the thumbnail showed a whole bunch of stills from the entire video. Obviously the private stuff was being previewed, but then those thumbnails were discontinued (they caused all kinds of other problems) but the private vids were left totally private. I might as well post my private stuff on dropbox, and I don't understand what advantage it gives XT to provide free server space for such totally private content.
There are other video sites, such as dudesnude, where you can restrict access to your stuff to registered users who are signed on. Yes, Xtube is for sharing, but the options on Xtube are to be wide open to anybody browsing, or total lockdown. There is room for options in betwen. I would suggest two intermediate levels, giving 4 levels of privacy in all.
1) totally private (as now)
2) friends only (as suggested)
3) registered logged-on users only
4) no restriction (as now)
That requires the people posting content to supply their city or postal code, which very few do. So this search will not be one of the new and exciting features coming at any time.
Let me rephrase won't say's point.
Why is XTube not excluded from webcrawler indexing, when it is simple to implement that exclusion?
Those terms of service don't actually mention pain, but they do include this:
* Violates any national, federal, state, provincial or local laws, rules, regulations, or ordinances concerning obscenity;
It's a safe bet that everything on Xtube violates obscenity laws in, say, Iran, or places with a similarly moribund attitude to public morality. So you might as well shut up shop really.
